Volunteer opportunities include our Welcome & Greeting team, Prayer team, A/V team (sound, light, media, switcher, & camera), Worship team (vocal & band), Security team, Janitorial, Youth & Children’s, Men’s & Women’s, Military Ministry, Hispanic Ministry, & Community Groups, & Saturday in the City (SITC – Community ministry).

Saturday in the City (SITC) is every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month. Join us at Prairie Grass Park from 11a-2p for food, fellowship, prayer, and games. Beginning November 24, Saturday in the City will be moving indoors for the winter. We will meet in the Embrace Community Center in our church (4120E. Fountain Blvd.,COS, CO 80916). The entire community is invited to join us for this free gathering. Hope to see you there!
 
Join us Wednesday nights for prayer! 6:30-7:30pm in the Welcome Center.
Hispanic Co-Ed Bible Study each Wednesday night in the Embrace Community Center (ECC). 6:30 – 7:30pm.
 
December 22 – Saturday in the City from 11 am to 2 pm in the Embrace Community Center.
 
December 23 – Christmas Candlelight Service at 10:30 am and come back that night for a Christmas Party and Christmas carols at 6:00 pm. Don’t forget to bring your favorite Christmas finger food to share!

March 22-24 (2019) – The Thorn is returning to Springs First! As we get info on ticket prices, auditions, and volunteering, we will let you know. We are very excited to host The Thorn for the 2nd year in a row.

 
 
 
 
Here are the Jesus And Guns (JAG) Activities and events of interest 2018:
 

December 8 – Hunter’s Prayer Breakfast.  7-8AM at Panera Bread, 3120 New Center Pt., Colorado Springs, near Powers and South Carefree. We’ll have prayer, a devotional, fellowship, and swap hunting, fishing & outdoor stories.

January 11 – Concealed Handgun Permit Training.  Friday, January 11th, 6:00PM-9:00PM, at Colorado Springs First Church, 4120 E. Fountain Blvd., COS, 80916.  We’ll present the class required for applying for a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit.  The class will be $50, cash or check.   Please email us at jagnazsfc@gmail.com, or call Dean at 719-2OO-2394, to register for the class. Do not bring any firearms into the class. Please arrive a little early so we can start promptly at 6:00.

Enter through the Stone Chapel double glass doors on the Southwest side of the building and follow the JAG signs to rooms M1/M2. For those that are looking for additional legal protection, US Law Shield will also present the services they provide. January 12 – Handgun Training Class.  Saturday, January 12th, 9:00AM-3:00PM, at Colorado Springs First Church,  4120 E. Fountain Blvd., COS, 80916.  Follow-up training for those who’ve recently taken a Concealed Handgun Permit class, have recently received their permit, are considering applying for a permit, or just want additional training. We will start off at the church with a class on topics including: Handgun Safety, Holsters, Philosophy of self-defense, Shooting stance, Proper grip, Sights, Trigger control, Dry practice procedures, Loading and unloading, and more.

Weather permitting, Live Fire exercises will be conducted after lunch, about 1:00-3:00. A range fee of $15 may be required.  If outdoor range practice is not available, we’ll hold dry fire practice (without ammunition) in the church.
The training is free, however, a suggested contribution of $40 to JAG Ministries is appreciated; the standard value of this type of training is $150.00 per person.
 
Bring your handgun, holster and 50 rounds of ammunition, ear & eye protection, collared shirt or jacket, hat, water, and weather appropriate outer garments. If you don’t yet have a handgun, let us know and we should be able to let you try one. Please be willing to help with ammunition costs.

February 9 – JAG General Session.  9:0AM, Gun Cleaning Class at Springs First Church, 4120 E. Fountain Blvd., COS.  Enter through the double glass doors on the southwest side of the building and follow the signs to room M1/2.  Ensure your guns are unloaded before coming.  NO ammunition.
