Where Do You Worship?
Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:19AM I love it when God moves and I am in crazy places (physically). I have worship experiences in theme parks (won't say which ones, but they start with a "D'). God has stirred my heart in a secular concert once too. I stood to my feet and gave Him glory. I have had moments in the car, in my office, and too many other places to recount. Not all worship happens in a church building. Have you had a worship moment somewhere other than church?
In a Trans-Siberian Orchestra Concert I was sitting watching the concert and they started to rock out on a favorite Christmas song. Some people were standing and I decided to join them. I threw my hands in the air (not a prerequisite for worship by-the-way) and began singing to the tops of my lungs and a few tears streaming down my face. "Fall on your knees. O hear the angel voices..." It was a powerful and memorable moment. What are some of yours?

I've had worship moments while reading a novel, while watching a movie . . . I am often awed by the creativity God gives us. The one that sticks out in my mind the most was last summer at a writing conference. During that week, those of us in charge were giving the talks, but we had one guest speaker, Scott Myers, the worship pastor at Pulpit Rock Church. The topic of his talk was "God As an Artist." His entire talk and the discussion that followed were worship experiences for me, just talking about creativity being a gift from God, and part of being made in His image, and listening to my teen writers talk about their own experiences with art becoming a worship experience. Amazing time.
I feel the same way - often I have worship moments while praying and listening to music commuting to work in the mornings. During walks outdoors I sense His presence too...all of nature is filled with His wonder and I am amazed at all of creation!
Thanks for sharing!
I love to worship while driving down the road, but I had an amazing expereince last week as I was sitting at my computer putting a sermon together. It was a David Crowder song and wow it almost had me in tears.
The EXACT moment in Revelation I read "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty...." doing my Bible study, the song "Revelation Song" played through KBIQ the exact words I was reading!!! Of all the songs, of all the text in the bible, the verse before, or after, or the previous book or the Old Testament...... GODS time is perfect and right.
